This week, our guest speaker will be Jeff McFarlane. Jeff is the CEO and founder of Xchange Technology Group. This week our guest will be Gerry Luft. A native Albertan, Mr. Luft was appointed COO and Vice-President, Downstream for Western Oil Sands effective January 1, 2002. Prior to assuming this position, commencing in June 1999, Mr. Luft was directly involved in negotiating terms of the Joint Venture Agreement established between Shell Canada (60%), Chevron Canada (20%), and Western Oil Sands (20%). The initial Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) had a project cost of $5.7 billion and currently markets 225,000 bbls/day of crude oil and products. Mr Luft was also responsible for negotiating terms of the recent $7 billion sale of Western Oil Sands to Marathon Oil Company. During the previous seven years of his career, Mr. Luft was President of ProServ Energy Inc. which participated with numerous oil and gas companies in Western Canada in the direct management and ownership of crude oil producing, gathering and blending operations. Throughout his 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Luft has been responsible for all areas of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and sulphur marketing, pipeline management and development, refinery supply optimization and business development. Mr Luft is also majority owner of numerous auto franchise operations located in Western Canada. Mr. Luft received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary, and completed the MBA executive program from the University of Western Ontario.

This week, our guest will be Steve Brandt. Steve is a self-determined entrepreneur, owner of Steve’s Livestock Transport. He started his company with only one truck, and has grown to be one of Canada’s largest livestock transport companies. He made his mark on the industry by overcoming the disease contamination issues for transportation to the US and protecting individual operations from contamination.

This week, our guest will be Bruce Chandler. Bruce is the Principal and Executive Director of Dominion Energy Services Inc. & Blackstone Energy Services Inc. Bruce is also the Principal of Collingwood Ethanol L.P. Dominion Energy was formed in 2005 to construct and develop renewable fuel facilities in North America. Blackstone Energy Services was formed in 2003 to provide risk management services to end users in Canada. Collingwood Ethanol L.P. is a partnership between Blackstone and Riverstone LLC. and is currently constructing an ethanol facility in Collingwood, Ontario. The partnership is also building North America's largest Bio-refinery in Innisfail, Alberta with a production capacity of 100,000,000 Gallon/year of ethanol, 100,000,000 Gallon/year of biodiesel and a 100,000,000 Gallons/year Canola crush facility.
Bruce and his wife Sharon have been married 43 years and have three sons; Curtis 41, Craig 38 and Darren 35, three granddaughters and two grandsons.

Her practical experience is combined with a strong academic background that includes a doctoral degree in leadership and organization change and a masters degree in clinical psychology. Lory has published numerous articles based on her field research including an in-depth examination of the relationship between leadership and culture in a high performing sales and service organization.
According to Lory, the heart of transformational leadership is not found in expertise but in authenticity. “Expertise has been a safety blanket that limits our ability to find truly innovative solutions to complex problems.”
